NOTE: I have an Android phone so these instructions are dedicated to Android users. If you use an i-phone, you can use the same process but the screenshots will look a little different.
Connect Alexa to your Calendar and then you will be able to do things like this:
- Ask Alexa about your scheduled events
- Tell Alexa to add an event on your calendar.
- Tell Alexa to edit an event on your calendar.
- Tell Alexa to delete an event on your calendar.
- Tell Alexa to Invite a friend to an event.
Grab your phone and open the Alexa App
Click the gear icon for Settings.
Scroll down under the list of devices and you’ll see the word Calendar (it took me 3 scrolls).
Click on the bar with the Google logo.
Click the blue “continue” button to link your Google Calendar to Alexa.
Select which Gmail account you want to use. (I have 4 or 5 so I had to find the right one).
You’ll probably be prompted to log into your Gmail account – so just do it.
Verify that you want Alexa to connect to your Google Account by pressing the blue “Allow” button.
That’s it! You’re done.
Now you can put your phone down, walk over to your Alexa Echo or Alexa Dot and ask the following questions:
“Alexa, when is my next event?”
“Alexa, what’s on my calendar?”
“Alexa, what’s on my calendar tomorrow?”
“Alexa, add an event to my calendar.”
“Alexa, add [“game night”] to my calendar for [“July 21st”] at [“5:00pm”]
“Alexa, delete my [‘8:30pm’] event.”
“Alexa, cancel my [“July 21st”] event.”
“Alexa, move my [“doctor appointment”] to [“2pm Friday”]”
“Alexa, reschedule my [“dinner date”] to [“August 15th at 7pm”]
“Alexa, invite [“Sally”] to [“game night”]”
“Alexa, create a meeting named [“Book Day”] with [“Mom”].
As Always – Have Fun!
