Listed below are some of my favorite tools:
Go to http://www.xml-sitemaps.com and enter the URL of your website. It will run up to 500 pages giving you an index of each web page on your site. This is useful for many reasons. You can submit it to Google when you first launch your website to help the search engine index all of your pages. You can also use it to help you create your own user friendly sitemap without having to start from scratch. You can also use it if it has been awhile since your website was created and your not sure of all the pages you have on your site and want to work on your navigation so people can find your information quicker.
Google Keyword Tool
Go to https://adwords.google.com and click on Keyword Tool. Enter a word and click the search button. You will find out how many times people search for that keyword per month – both locally and globally.
Bing Webmaster Tools
Go to: http://www.bing.com/toolbox/webmaster/ You must sign in with your msn password. This is very similiar to Google Webmaster Tools. Enter in your URL, they will give you a file to upload to verify you are the owner of the site. That’s option 1. Option 2 is you can copy/paste the meta tag they give you. Option 3 has something to do with adding a CNAME record to your DNS. I’m not going to touch that.
